Furthermore, in accordance with the said Act, there will be early voting which will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, one day before the general election.

The special voting will enable the officials and soldiers in charge of election activities to vote before the day when all citizens vote.

Early voting will involve Returning Officers, Polling Station Managers, Election Assistants, Police Officers on duty, as well as Members and Executives of the Electoral Commission.

Kazi said “This measure aims to ensure that staff overseeing the election exercise do not miss the opportunity to exercise their constitutional right to vote”

According to ZEC, preparations for the election have begun early to ensure that the exercise is conducted in a transparent, peaceful and secure manner. The Commission has stressed that it continues to collaborate with political parties, civil society organizations and international stakeholders to ensure that this year’s elections are free and fair.

Similarly, citizens have been asked to continue to maintain peace and solidarity in the run-up to the election. The Commission has called on all voters to ensure that they turn out in large numbers by October 29, 2025 to exercise their democratic right.
