KENYA TO START PRODUCING ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLES + PICTURES

PRESIDENT William Ruto has launched a plan for electric motorcycles.

"Our goal is to encourage the adoption of renewable energy that will be compatible with our climate change action and promote economic growth in our country," President Ruto said.

The president says electric motorcycles will provide affordable and environmentally friendly transportation.

These motorcycles are assembled at Roam Park, one of the largest electric motorcycle assembly factories in East Africa.

President Ruto says the government aims to produce 200,000 electric motorcycles in the transport sector by the end of 2024.

The government has also decided to reduce the 16 percent tax on the price of electric motorcycles.
