DUE to having a large
number of people hitting animals in the Mikumi National Park, it has been
stated that the most expensive animal if you hit it is an elephant for which a
person will have to pay 20 thousand dollars equal to 50 million.
In Mwankusye, the
accountant of the mikumi reserve has said that due to the chronic problem, they
have been continuing to provide education, including reducing the speed limit
in the reserve, while over the past three years they have been fined a total of
more than 280 million as fines.
"Other animals with
big fines, if you hit a lion, for example, 7500 dollars, if you change it, it
goes to more than 18 million, one buffalo is 2500 US dollars, which is more
than 6 million, if you hit a monkey, you are charged 110 dollars, which is more
than two hundred thousand dollars"
The chief conservationist
of the Mikumi reserve Agustino Masesa has said that currently more than 10
planes land every day in the reserve with tourists where the annual income of
the reserve is more than 4 billion per year.
