The
POLICE FORCE in Arusha region has said that the security and safety situation
in the region for the month of February so far is stable while arresting
suspected criminals, drugs and motorcycles used in crime.
Giving
the information today, Arusha Regional Police Commander, Senior Assistant
Commissioner of Police SACP Justine Masejo, said that the success was due to
various operations carried out by the army against crimes and criminals.
SACP
Masejo has noted that through anti-narcotics raids, they managed to arrest 21
suspects with 549.8 Kilograms of Marijuana and 14 suspects with 157.5 Kilograms
of Marijuana.
In
addition, they managed to arrest 02 suspects with 02 pieces of ivory where all
the suspects have been brought to court and sentenced to 20 years in prison
each.
At
the same time, the Army seized a total of 07 motorcycles that were used by
criminals in various criminal incidents in the region.
Likewise,
Commander Masejo has said that they managed to arrest 25 suspects with 143
liters of Moshi alcohol and all the suspects have been brought to court for
legal procedures.
Likewise,
the Army has succeeded in arresting and bringing to court 19 Suspects of
Adultery and Rape, where one of them has been sentenced to life in prison for
the offense of Adultery.
The Arusha Region Police Force has called on drivers who violate road safety laws and those with unofficial number plates (3D), that they will arrest them and bring them to court as it has been found that many drivers believe that if they break the law they will only pay a fine.
