THE GOVERNMENT of Tanzania has been commended for making major reforms in the health sector as well as providing cooperation to international organizations, particularly the World Health Organization (WHO).
These compliments have
been given by the Resident Representative of the World Health Organization
(WHO) in the country, Dr. Charles Sagoe-Moses Presenting Identity Documents to
the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. Dr.
Stergomena Tax (Mb.) In Mini Offices Of Ministries In Dar Es Salaam Date 28
July 2023.
"I congratulate the
Government of Tanzania for your cooperation that you have been giving to the
World Health Organization, we certainly promise to continue working hard and
cooperation to ensure that we improve and strengthen the foundations of the
health sector here in Tanzania," said Dr. Sagoe-Moses
Dr. Sagoe-Moses has added
that the efforts of the Tanzanian government in dealing with various diseases,
especially those of the outbreak, are good and satisfactory, a good example is
how Tanzania fought Marburg fever in the Kagera region.
"WHO will continue
to cooperate with the Government of Tanzania in preventing and treating various
diseases to ensure that the health of Tanzanians is always better," added
Dr. Sagoe-Moses.
And the Minister of
Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr. Stergomena Tax has assured
him of Sufficient Cooperation from the Government of the United Republic of
Tanzania during the implementation of his duties here in the country.
Dr. Tax has said that
Tanzania will continue to work with the WHO to ensure that it improves and
strengthens health systems and the health sector in general, as well as
building the capacity of health sector experts to enable them to deal with and
control various diseases emerging in society.
"Tanzania and the
World Health Organization have been cooperating in strengthening and improving
the health sector in the country, WHO's contribution is great and has helped
the government to improve the health sector and the implementation of various
interventions in the fight against diseases.... A good example is that we have
been cooperating in the eradication of malaria , Uviko 19 and other diseases
such as HIV, said Dr. Tax.
Tanzania has been
cooperating with WHO and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure
that it improves health systems and the health sector in order to build the
capacity of the country and its experts in identifying and controlling
diseases.
